Soprano Laura Loge “is a beautiful lady with an outstanding vocal range (The Clark Fork
Chronicle).” She is quickly establishing herself, gracing both the opera and concert stages in the
northwest as well as the northeast. This summer she was featured as a soprano soloist in Rimrock Opera's Summer Pops Concert in Billings, Montana as well as "An Evening in Norway," a concert featuring Ms. Loge's specialty of Scandinavian Art Song and opera scenes and arias with the Kitsap Opera in Bremerton, Washington. Last fall she was seen and heard portraying Rosalinda in Longwood Opera's performance of Die Fledermaus in Boston. Other recent opera performances
include the Second Lady in Mozart's The Magic Flute with the Intermountain Opera in Montana,
Musetta in Puccini's La Bohème in a joint production with Riverside Theater Works and Boston
Opera Collaborative, both in 2007, Goddess Diana in Glück's Iphigenie en Aulide with the Boston
Opera Collaborative in 2006 and Miss Silverpeal and Sister Genevieve with the Rimrock Opera
in 2005. Ms. Loge has sung Suor Genevieve at the Amalfi Coast Music Festival in Italy. With
the Intermountain Opera and on the Amalfi Coast she has covered the roles of High Priestess in
Aida, the title role in Susannah, and Lucia and Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor. She has
performed scenes from, among others, Don Pasquale, Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Lucia
di Lammermoor, Manon, I Capuleti ed i Montecchi, Miss Havisham’s Wedding Night,
Midtridate, and Summer and Smoke with the Centro Studi Lirica Music Festival in Novafeltria,
Italy, The New England Conservatory, Boston Opera Collaborative and Longwood Opera. She
has also participated in the Aspen Music Festival.

Upcoming opera performances include this coming fall, when she will be joining Rimrock Opera in performances across the state of Montana, singing Ginger in outreach performances of The Night Harry Stopped Smoking. In January, 2009, she will be singing the role of Suor Genevieve in a concert version of Puccini's Suor Angelica with Puget Sound Concert Opera, in collaboration with Bellevue Opera.
Additionally, on the concert stage in Massachusetts, she was heard as the soprano soloist in Verdi's Requiem with the Masterworks Chorale as part of their Summer Sing Series and joined them as soprano soloist in Schumann's Mass and Requiem last fall as part of their 2007- 2008 concert season. Ms. Loge was featured as the soprano soloist in Händel's Messiah with the Pilgrim Festival Chorus and Orchestra during the last holiday season. Recently, on the opposite coast, she sang with the Bremerton Symphony as the soprano soloist in Faure's Requiem in the spring of 2008. Upcoming concert performances include singing soprano as part of the solo quartet in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in February of 2009 with the Yakima Symphony and Brooke Creswell, conductor. Ms. Loge's recital repertoire includes Barber, Mozart, R. Strauss, Bellini, Grieg, Barber and Laitman. She has presented recitals of Scandinavian art song on the radio broadcast, “Live By George” and at the Scandinavian Heritage Center in Seattle, Washington. Other venues where she has performed Scandinavian repertoire are at Montana State University and St. Olaf College, and in Dillon, Montana, Stavanger, Norway and at the Scandinavian Living Center in Newton, Massachusetts. As a guest lecturer and recitalist at the University of Montana Western, she has presented students with an overview of opera and art song. Ms. Loge was a finalist in the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle 2008 competition. She is a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council District Auditions in the Montana/Idaho/Eastern Washington district 2005 competition. She placed as a semi-finalist in the 2004 Laureen Butler Competition in El Paso, Texas as well as in the Minnesota chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition. She was awarded a full scholarship to study Scandinavian art song at the University of Stavanger Conservatory of Music in Norway in 2001-2002. Ms. Loge received her Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She studied Italian bel canto technique and repertoire with Signora Rosanna Lippi in Italy. A student of Edward Zambara, she received her Master’s of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. Ms. Loge currently resides in Seattle, Washington, and studies voice with soprano Jane Eaglen. |
