In May of 2005, Laura visited Hurly Elementary School in the heart of Boston. She spent the morning showing first and second grade kids what it was like to be an opera singer and joining them in songs and games. In this picture, the kids are helping Laura count the cows in a Norwegian cow call.

Laura has sung and answered all sorts of questions for students at Beaverhead County High School in Dillon, Montana and Bozeman High School and Middle School in Bozeman, Montana.

In addition, Laura has been a guest lecturer and recitalist for art appreciation classes at the University of Montana, Western Campus in Dillon, Montana.

In 2006, Laura presented Edvard Grieg's song cycle Haugtussa and a number of traditional Norwegian Christmas Carols for the residents of the Scandinavian Living Center in Newton, Massachusetts as part of the New England Conservatory Outreach Program. She brought the program to the residents of the Norse Home in Seattle, Washington in January, 2009.

As part of singing 2nd Lady in Intermountain Opera's production of The Magic Flute she took part in outreach to a Fairy Tea fundraiser for the arts, sang for an auditorium full of fifth graders from Bozeman and also sang for students of Bozeman High School.

Last fall, Laura sang with the Rimrock Opera in performances of The Night Harry Stopped Smoking in elementary schools across the state of Montana as part of their educational outreach programs.

In the spring of 2010 she will be joining Northwest Opera in Schools, Etcetera, bringing Menotti's The Telephone, to schools across Washington.
